Jo has a consistent history of service work with local, national, and international organizations. Since founding HOLMES@LAW, she has dedicated hundreds of hours volunteering with K-12 and professional schools, leadership groups, and working toward poverty alleviation.

Jo currently serves on the inaugural Advisory Board for the Blockchain Law for Social Good Center, where her focus is providing strategy, governance and managerial guidance to the BL4SG executive team. The Center is a hub for Web3 innovation across government, business and academia. A first of its kind initiative at an American law school, its mission is to advocate for balanced blockchain regulation, inclusive policy making, and innovations that benefit diverse communities and constituencies.

Recently, Jo completed tenure as a member of the Board of Directors for the Stanford National Black Alumni Association.  Moreover, she's a longstanding board member for New Harvest Family Day Care, which nurtures the children of low income families.  Jo has served on the State Bar of Georgia's IP Outreach & Philanthropy committee, and on the steering committee for Leadership Gwinnett's GLANCE program.

In her local community, Jo volunteers on the Board of Directors for Path United (supporting children's education in immigrant communities). Likewise, she proudly served as an inaugural Advisory Council member for the Entrepreneurship Program at Discovery High School.  Jo has taught business and legal seminars for SCORE (a Small Business Administration partner) and the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce.

Jo regularly volunteers with the Southeast Gwinnett Cooperative Ministry food pantry.  Through her alumni association, she's partnered to package medical supplies for hospitals in crisis zones, and prepare school books for shipping to Africa. HOLMES@LAW financially supports Girls Opportunity Alliance, CARE USA, and Heifer International, all respected charitable organizations dedicated to girls' education and poverty alleviation in the developing world.

Jo is shown here speaking at a CARE conference in Washington DC.
